you know those bands that you used to listen in high school that started you off into the world of music outside of rap and hip hop? 

Well, the new amsterdams was SO that band for me. This is the get up kids' lead singer's side band and is pretty awesome. although i haven't listened to them in a while i can totally tell you that their lyrics and melodies are so nostalgic and reminiscent of by gone days when electro-pop and techno WASN'T all the rage, and acoustics and lyrics were actually relevant. The band has never come to UCSD before, so heres your chance to see them!
